About
Marcus K.H. Yiu is a Professor in the Department of Smart Construction and Built Environment at Hong Kong Harbourside University (HKHU). He joined HKHU in 2021 and currently directs the HKHU Smart Construction Lab, where his team develops building informatics, BIM-based decision support, and computer vision tools for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.
Prior to taking up his professorship at HKHU, Prof. Yiu conducted research at the intersection of construction management and information systems. At HKHU his lab now works closely with industry partners on smart construction pilots across Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and Southeast Asia.

Teaching at HKHU
At HKHU, Prof. Yiu teaches undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the Department of Smart Construction and Built Environment. Recent course offerings include "BIM and Smart Construction" and a postgraduate seminar on "Digital Innovation in the Built Environment".
